Schomburg

The SCHOMBURG group of companies is managed as a family held company in second and third generation by Albert Schomburg (middle), Ralph Schomburg (right) and Dr. Jens Hofele (left).

Albert Schomburg, born in April 1938, joined his father’s company in 1961. In the following years the SCHOMBURG group developed under his management from a regional manufacturer of additives to an international company for ready to use building product systems for waterproofing, building repair, tile laying and industrial floor coatings. His willingness to strike new paths has formed the company. Since a couple of years he is systematically preparing a soft and smooth transition to the next management generation.

Ralph Schomburg, born in May 1971, started his work in the company in 1999 after having finished his studies for Master of Business Administration at the International School of Management in Dortmund with semesters in London and San Diego. After having established a new distribution field he took over the management of the sales department for SCHOMBURG GmbH for the region South Germany in 2003. In the same year his responsibility extended to the marketing of the SCHOMBURG group. Since the beginning of 2005 Ralph Schomburg was appointed into the management of the SCHOMBURG GmbH and therefore is responsible for half of the turnover of the group of companies.

Dr. Jens Hofele, born in February 1968, was appointed in 1997 as a chemist in the research and development department right after he earned his PhD degree from the university of Paderborn . During his perennial work in the development of waterproofing products he continuously took over new jobs in the area of plant layout and with effect from 1999 also in the export department. Starting in 2002 his main responsibility turned to the development of foreign markets where he initially oversaw projects in the USA and Middle East. At the beginning of 2004 he took over the management of the holding AQUAFIN International and became MD in the SCHOMBURG GmbH.
