SCHOMBURG with a new associated company abroad in Italy
With effect of the 5th November 2009 AQUAFIN International GmbH will take a 50% holding in the italian company BENFER srl (www.benfer.it). BENFER is a long established company with 25 employees near to Bologna with comprehensive corporate sales with independent agents in Italy and southern France. At their present location in Bazzano more than 25,000 tonnes of tile adhesive and grout are produced annually. Additional dispersion-based products round off the current range. The partner in this joint venture is Giorgio Cocchi who took over the company more than 20 years ago from his father. Under his leadership a two man business became a supplier of branded goods for tile installation systems.
In the future the company will trade under the name "BENFER SCHOMBURG srl" and initially the present tile adhesive range will be ditributed with add-ons from SCHOMBURG systems. In addition the complete construction waterproofing and restoration range and a few add-on products from the SCHOMBURG selection will be marketed. In the second phase it is planned to introduce the system solutions from SCHOMBURG ICS.
In 2010 the company will move into a new factory in Maranello. Currently a state of the art production plant for dry powders and dispersion based products is emerging on the 25,000 m² site. The new building will also offer, in addition to a generously proportioned warehouse capacity, laboratory and office space for further expansion.
